PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform power saving; and to prevent the discharge of a plurality of ink drops.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge apparatus comprises: an auxiliary power supply circuit 50; a ground G with zero voltage; power source wiring 511 that is a first signal path to which a voltage V/6 higher than zero voltage is applied through the auxiliary power supply circuit 50; power source wiring 512 that is a second signal path to which a voltage V/6 is applied; and a connection path selection part 30 that electrically connects a piezoelectric element 40 and the auxiliary power supply circuit 50 using the ground G and the power source wiring 511 and 512, according to the voltage of a control signal Vin and a voltage Vout held by the piezoelectric element 40. When the voltage Vout is reduced over the voltage V/6, the connection path selection part 30, after electrically connected between the piezoelectric element 40 and the auxiliary power supply circuit 50 through the ground G and the power source wiring 511, electrically disconnects the power source wiring 511 while shifting the piezoelectric element 40 and the auxiliary power supply circuit 50 to an electrically connected state through the ground G. |
