<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which is excellent in heat insulating performance and does not reduce the temperature detection accuracy of an abnormal temperature detection member and to provide an image forming apparatus including the fixing device.SOLUTION: A fixing device 5 includes a fixing roller 18 constituting a fixing member and a pressure roller 19 constituting a pressure member. A heat insulating cover 61 being a heat insulating member is arranged in a part of the outer peripheral surface of the fixing roller 18 with a predetermined space. A thermostat 71 constituting the abnormal temperature detection member detects the surface temperature of the fixing roller 18 by using a bimetal 75 stored in a case part 72 as a sensor part. The case part 72 is fitted into a hole part 61a formed in the heat insulating cover 61, to be held. The case part 72 has a projection part 72a projecting to an external space on the opposite side to the fixing roller 18 from the heat insulating cover 61 and at least two openings 72d are formed in the projection part 72a.</p> |
