PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience of character input on a touch screen display.SOLUTION: In one embodiment, a portable electronic device (for example, a smart phone 1) has a touch screen display for displaying a picture for accepting character input and a control unit (controller), in which the control unit (controller) accepts character input by a first mode when migration length of a touch gesture after start of the touch gesture to the picture is detected does not exceed predetermined distance, and accepts character input by a second mode when the migration length of the touch gesture continues by exceeding the predetermined distance. |
