<p>An arc generation detector and a switch, the arc generation detector being capable of detecting arc generation at an electrical connection portion such as a terminal belonging to a power supply line and having a relatively simple configuration, and reducing the size. An arc light detection unit (91) detects arc light emitted when an arc is generated at the electric connection portion such as a terminal provided to an electric device. A determination unit (92) determines whether the arc light detection unit (91) has detected arc light. A signal output unit (93) outputs an arc generation detection signal to the outside in a case in which the determination unit (92) determines that the arc light detection unit (91) has detected arc light. The arc generation detection signal is inputted to a drive circuit (64) of a trip coil (65) in a switch (82). The drive circuit (64) drives the trip coil (65) in accordance with the input of the arc generation detection signal, and moves and opens moving contacts (42, 44) disposed between power supply-side terminals (21, 22) and load-side terminals (23, 24) in the switch (82).</p> |
