PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire crimping device and wire crimping method whereby a wire tip section can be smoothly inserted into and firmly and efficiently crimped by a hollow crimp section of a closed-barrel crimp terminal.SOLUTION: There can be provided a wire crimping device 10. The wire crimping device 10 includes: a wire crimping unit 300 that crimps a crimp section 120 into which a wire tip section 200a has been inserted through a wire insertion opening 123 opening on a base end side Xb of the crimp section 120 in the longitudinal direction X thereof; and a guide unit 410 that guides the tip section of an aluminum conductor 220 into the wire insertion opening 123 of a female crimp terminal 100 disposed at a prescribed position so as to be crimped with the wire crimping unit 300. The inside diameter of the facing part of the guide unit 410, the facing part facing the wire insertion opening 123, is formed to be matched to the inside diameter of the wire insertion opening 123.
