Provided is a decorative method for parts such that it is possible to draw a pattern on the coating of a part without the performance of the coating deteriorating. In a coating formation step, a coating (3) is formed on the surface of a molded resin body by coating with a metallic paint that includes aluminum flakes (7a). In a laser drawing step, a laser (L1) is fired under laser firing conditions wherein the surface state of the coating (3) can be maintained in the same state before and after laser firing. By firing the laser (L1) on the coating (3), aluminum flakes (7a) in the coating (3) are thermally deformed from flakes to spheres, forming a pattern (4), such that the aspect ratio for those aluminum flakes (7a), which is denoted by the ratio of the average value of the maximum dimensional part to the average value of the minimum dimensional part, is reduced. |
