<p>The present technology pertains to an image processing device, method, and program whereby false colors and noise can be reliably reduced. A reference area setting unit sets a reference area, that is, an area composed of predetermined pixels, from a first image that is formed in accordance with an image signal output from a single-chip type pixel unit, wherein pixels each corresponding to a color component of multiple color components are regularly arranged on a plane surface, and changes the area of the reference area. A direction detection unit evaluates statistics obtained from pixel values of the pixels in the reference area in order to detect the directionality at a position of interest in the first image area. The present technology can be applied, for example, to an image processing device that performs image processing with respect to an image signal obtained by a single-chip type camera.</p> |
