PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform fine adjustment of the transmission level of dummy light and prompt adjustment of the transmission level of dummy light, as compared to the case of inserting channel dummy light to all channels, in an optical transmission device.SOLUTION: The optical transmission device includes a wavelength multiplexer unit 2 and a selector unit 1. The wavelength multiplexer unit 2 wavelength multiplexes either dummy light selected by the selector unit 1 on a subband-by-subband basis, out of channel dummy light for each WDM channel and subband dummy light for each subband including a plurality of channels. The selector unit 1 measures a transmission characteristic at a receiving end relative to the channel dummy light intensity on the subband-by-subband basis, and according to the measurement result, selects either the channel dummy light or the subband dummy light on the subband-by-subband basis. |
