PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device control apparatus and method capable of providing operation screens of all devices as an integrated system even when home electric appliance devices of different manufactures are mixed and installed in a building.SOLUTION: In a device control apparatus, devices 1-5 in a building H that are connected by an in-building network are controlled by a remote control operation screen 100. The device control apparatus comprises: grid pattern storage means for a grid pattern 200 in which rectangular unit grids 210 are arranged in a lattice shape with a clearance 211; remote control operation means for each device group; and screen component object storage means for storing objects of screen components 110, 120, and 130 for displaying a driving state. The grid pattern 200 is acquired from the grid pattern storage means, and the objects of the plurality of screen components 110, 120, and 130 are acquired from the screen component object storage means, and a screen is displayed so that lines forming an outer periphery of the objects are accorded with an outer peripheral line of a region formed by a single unit grid 210 or an aggregate of adjacent unit grids 210. |
