[Class 46] A filter comprises a container 1 having a downwardly disposec tangential inlets 4 near the top and a plurality o horizontal baffle plates 2, 3 near the bottom, a filter cage structure 5 with ar outlet at the top being supportec in the upper portion of the con. tainer and being closed at the bottom by a disc 8, with a depending cylindrical wall 9 forming a receiving space for lighter particles separating out from the vortical motion or washed from the outside of the filter cage by the tangential flow. The heavier particles are periphally separated by the vortical motion of the incoming fluid and fall to the bottom of the container beyond the edges of the baffle plates for withdrawal through a drain pipe and valve 10.</p> |
