The present invention relates to data transmission method and device using a short media access control (MAC) header to reduce the electric current consumption of a terminal and prevent unnecessary wireless channel occupation. The method includes the steps of: grouping a plurality of terminals based on a predetermined standard; allocating a group connecting association ID (AID) to each group which is finished with grouping; comprising a MAC header including the group connecting ID; and transmitting a data frame including the MAC header to a particular group. Therefore, the electric current consumption of the terminal can be reduced by using the group connecting ID for a first address field of the short MAC header, and the occupation by an unnecessary wireless channel can be prevented.
