The present invention generally relates to a method and apparatus for retouching the colors of an image. The method is characterized in that it comprises the following steps: - obtaining (100) an information about the harmony of the colors of the pixels of the image in reference with a color harmonious template, - determing (200) at least one color in order to increase the harmony of the colors of pixels belonging to a region of the image, and - mapping (300) the colors of the pixels belonging to the region to said at least one determined colors.
