PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having a long service life and a reduced cost of printing by highly stabilizing surface physical properties of an electrophotographic photoreceptor to a level equal to or higher than a level of abrasion resistance.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an electrophotographic photoreceptor; and a sub-surface layer having charge transportability and layered on the surface of the photoreceptor. The sub-surface layer comprises a cured product of at least a radical polymerizable monomer having three or more functional groups with no charge transport structure and a radical polymerizable compound having a charge transport structure. The sub-surface layer shows surface roughness WRa in frequency components of HMH, HML and HLH, of 0.002 to 0.005 μm and WRa(LLH) of 0.05 μm or less, obtained by wavelet conversion of measurement values obtained by measuring a concavo-convex contour of the surface with a surface roughness meter. The sub-surface layer further contains one of a particular oxazole compound and a particular diamine compound. |
