摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter for an electric vehicle, based on a technique for thermally protecting switching elements and other components appropriately.SOLUTION: A power converter 1 comprises: a plurality of elements 51 in which power for driving a motor flows; a heat sink; a housing; a first and a second temperature sensors 11 and 12; and a control device 61. The first temperature sensor 11 and the second temperature sensor 12 measure a temperature of the heat sink and an atmospheric temperature of a component to be thermally-protected, respectively. The control device 61 reduces a target output of a travelling motor 7 at a predetermined limitation rate on the basis of values measured by the first temperature sensor 11 or the second temperature sensor 12, and drives the elements 51 so as to achieve the reduced target output. The control device 61 selects, as the predetermined limitation rate, a limitation rate with which the target output becomes smaller, between a first limitation rate corresponding to the temperature measured by the first temperature sensor 11 and a second limitation rate corresponding to the temperature measured by the second temperature sensor 12.</p>
