When a new start point and a new destination are identified, past routes that pass through both a start area and a destination area are extracted; new-start-side partial routes that go from the new start point to an exit point are found; new-destination-side partial routes that go from an entrance point to the new destination are found; new-route candidates each consisting of a new-start-side partial route, a past partial route consisting of the part of a past route from the exit point to the entrance point, and a new-destination-side partial route, in that order, are found; the cost of each new-route candidate is calculated; and a new route is found, said new route being the lowest-cost new-route candidate.
