A blood flow index calculation device (10) obtains images taken with a camera of a first body part which is a portion of a subject's body and a second body part which is a part different from the first body part. The blood flow index calculation device (10) then extracts a region of the first body part and a region of the second body part included in the images. Further, the blood flow index calculation device (10) detects the contour of the pulse wave of the first body part from the region of the first body part and detects the contour of the pulse wave of the second body part from the region of the second body part. The blood flow index calculation device (10) calculates a delay amount from the contour of the pulse wave of the first body part and the contour of the pulse wave of the second body part. The blood flow index calculation device (10) then calculates an index relating to blood flow using the delay amount.
