Controlling a noise modification system of a vehicle with an exhaust system, the noise modification action being carried out in dependence upon a driving style of the drive of the vehicle, and causing modification of noise emitted by the exhaust system in dependence on the noise modification action. The noise modification system is controlled by a controller which may be operable to transmit the control signal to cause one or more speakers to modify the measured noise in the exhaust system. The noise modification action may comprises any of; a noise enhancement action, a noise suppression action, a noise cancelling action and no modification action. The noise modification system may comprise an active noise system or an active exhaust system. |
