Activated carbon catalyst

Activated carbon catalyst, exhibiting a nitrogen content of the carbon skeleton of above 0.4 wt.%, and a pore volume of micropores less than 1 nm of below 0.47 cm 3>/g and a pore volume of macropores greater than 1 nm of below 0.72 cm 3>/g, is new. Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of the activated carbon catalyst; and (2) use of the activated carbon catalyst for removing nitrogen oxides.
