A mobile-computer (e.g. a tablet computer) support apparatus 10 includes a stand 12, a dock 14 on the stand 12 for receiving a mobile-computing device 14 such that at least a screen thereof is unobstructed from view, a charging element 70 for charging the mobile-computing device when docked, and a locking mechanism 18 for locking the mobile-computing device to the dock 14. The locking mechanism 18 includes a retaining element 40 locatable on a housing 42 or a secondary housing 46 of the mobile-computing device 16, so as to be spaced from the screen, and a separate engagement element 44 on or adjacent to the dock 14 which releasably engages the retaining element 40 so that, in use, the mobile-computing device 16 is positively held stationary or substantially stationary in the dock 14. |
