The spinning station (1) has a spinning unit (5) with units for producing the yarn (2), and an extraction device (6) downstream the spinning unit in a transport direction for extracting the yarn from the spinning unit. A yarn store (7) is arranged downstream the extraction device for temporarily storing a yarn section. A winding device (9) is arranged downstream the yarn store for winding the yarn. A recycling unit (10) is provided for recycling of a yarn end in the area of the spinning station. An independent claim is included for a method for operating a spinning station of a spinning machine.
