A rising auxiliary device (8) enables reversible adjustment of the furniture from a sitting position into a rising subsidiary position, where the rising auxiliary device includes an electrical actuator and an adjusting mechanism. The actuator is arranged in the recess of the armrests in the sitting position of the furniture.
