Photocatalytic building material mixture comprises a dry mixture of a finely divided photocatalyst and a pozzolanic carrier exhibiting a spherical or rounded grain shape having a grain size of 0.1 mu m to 1 mm, where the photocatalyst is at least partly distributed on the surface of the carrier. Independent claims are also included for: (1) preparing the photocatalytic building material mixture, comprising producing the above mentioned dry mixture, and processing the photocatalyst and the carrier using an intensive mixer to the building material mixture; and (2) a concrete component comprising the above mentioned building material mixture.
