A lifting apparatus (40) installed in a nacelle (30) for a wind turbine generator is provided with: a lifting unit (41); a beam (42) configured to support the lifting unit; a rail (43) placed in the nacelle and configured to engage with a distal end of the beam; and a support column (44) installed in a standing manner in the nacelle and configured to rotatably support the beam so that the distal end of the beam moves along the rail. The beam (42) is attached to the support column (44) to be slidable relative to the support column in a longitudinal direction of the beam.
