PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply grasp the transition of a photographing place. SOLUTION: Positional information on a video camera body is obtained from a GPS 105 at predetermined time intervals and recorded in a position history table. When a power is turned on, on the basis of information recorded in the position history table, a transition image generation unit 122 generates transition image data showing the positional transition of the video camera body. When a recording start/stop button in an operation unit 102 is pressed by a user, the transition image data is recorded in a memory card 144 and recording of photographic image data is started.
