摘要 <p>A rapid and simple assay kit for the sensitive and interference-free determination of copper and zinc in liquid samples with complex matrices has been invented. The kit comprises Zincon as the chelating agent stabilised in a polymer matrix. The proposed matrix allows long-term storage of the reagent at room temperature and enhanced photometric response. The kit also comprises metal releasing agents to release metal ions from the interfering binding molecules and the selectivity is controlled by the choice of the releasing agents, pH and the photometric wavelength. The reagents also contain water-soluble polymer and a surfactant for fast and efficient complexation and photometric detection. The water-soluble polymer is also used for the enhancement of the colour and stability of the complex.</p>
