According to an embodiment of the present invention, a light emitting device includes: a substrate; a light emitting structure which is arranged on the substrate and includes a first semiconductor layer, a second semiconductor layer, and an active layer, arranged between the first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer; a transparent electrode layer which is arranged on the semiconductor layer; a second electrode arranged on the transparent electrode layer; and a diffusion limiting layer which is arranged between the transparent electrode layer and the second electrode and minimizes diffusion of oxygen contained in the transparent electrode layer to the second electrode. The diffusion limiting layer includes at least one element of a group 4, a group 6, or a group 10. |
