The printing device is provided with a rotationally-driven container conveying unit (3), by which the containers (4) are conveyed between a container feed location (50) and a container removal location (60). A print head is provided along with a housing (1) for a container. The housing comprises a hollow body that is partially open in a printing area, and which is used for accommodating the container. An opening for the printing area defines a front side and a side located opposite the front side for defining a rear side.
