<p>The method for coating a substrate (4) of a component (1), comprises carrying out first thermal spraying process to produce a ceramic layer (7) that has a local irregularity (10), which is removed by a second coating process different from the spraying process. The second coating process is non-thermal spraying process, which represents slip application or slip spraying. The first spraying process is an automatic or semi-automatic coating process and the second coating process is manual process. The first spraying process is plasma spraying, high velocity oxygen fuel- or cold gas spraying.
