A Ford Transit Euro Connect 5 vehicle 2 has a diesel particulate filter (DPF) 4, and a clamp 6 which retains the DPF in place under the vehicle. A length of protective material 8 protects the clamp, and is secured at a first end 10 to the clamp, and at a second end 12 to an existing aperture 14 in the vehicle. The existing aperture is adjacent the DPF, thereby ensuring that the length of protective material is kept to a minimum. The protective material may be a chain having a heat resisting sheath. The existing aperture may be under a heat shield, a portion of the heat shield being bent back or cut away to expose the aperture. The protective material may be secured at each end by a shear bolt fastener 22, 24. The protective material reduces the risk of theft of the DPF. |
