PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allocate to a communication apparatus a virtual address that does not collide with another communication apparatus, only through wireless network search processing without connecting to a wireless network. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a communication system having a communication apparatus and a second communication apparatus. The communication apparatus includes: a transmission section for transmitting a search request to the second communication apparatus which constitutes a wireless network being present around the communication apparatus; a receiving section for receiving from the second communication apparatus a search response containing address information of the second communication apparatus, and address information of a third communication apparatus being present within the wireless network constituted by the second communication apparatus; and a setting section for setting to the communication apparatus address information which does not overlap with both the address information of the second communication apparatus and the address information of the third communication apparatus contained in the search response as address information in the wireless network.
