The electric machine (10) has a cooling circuit (20) that is provided with one cooling liquid. The cooling circuit (20) is arranged inside housing (12). One winding of a stator (14) or a rotor (16) is arranged inside the housing. One winding is provided with a waveguide portion, and one cooling fluid is flowed through an interior of the waveguide portion. The cooling circuit (26) is provided with another cooling fluid different from one cooling fluid. The cooling circuit (26) is arranged outside the housing. An independent claim is included for a method of cooling an electrical machine.
