According to an aspect of the present invention, an IC card contains a communication unit and a control unit. The communication unit communicates with an external device. The control unit sets the first speed which is the communication speed used to communicate with the external device by the communication unit. In addition, if the control unit receives a request for a change in the communication speed from the external device by the communication unit, the control unit changes the communication speed to the second speed defined by the change request from the first speed. |
