A chromophore represented by the formula I-1:wherein π1 and π2 independently represent the same or different carbon-carbon conjugated π-bonds, and π1 and π2 each may have the same or different substituents; at least one of RD1, RD2, and RD3 independently represents an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an aralkyloxy group, a silyloxy group, an alkenyloxy group, an alkenylcarbonyloxy group, an alkynyloxy group, or a hydroxy group; the rest independently represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; and RD1, RD2, and RD3 each may have the same or different substituents when RD2 and RD3 are each attached to adjacent carbon atoms of the aryl of the donor structure represented by the formula D-1: (1) RD2 and RD3 may form, together with the two adjacent carbon atoms, a ring optionally having a substituent; andRD1 represents an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group, an aralkyloxy group, a silyloxy group, an alkenyloxy group, an alkenylcarbonyloxy group, an alkynyloxy group, or a hydroxy group, andRD1 may have a substituent, or (2) RD2 and RD3 may form, together with the two adjacent carbon atoms, a heterocyclic ring containing an oxygen atom as a hetero atom and optionally having a substituent; RD4 and RD5 independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a haloalkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group, an acyloxyalkyl group, a silyloxyalkyl group, an aminoalkyl group, or an aryl group, and RD4 and RD5 each may have the same or different substituents, or RD4 and RD5 form, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, a heterocyclic ring containing the nitrogen atom as a hetero atom and optionally having a substituent; or (a) RD2 and —NRD4RD5 and (b) RD3 and —NRD4RD5 independently form, together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached, a heterocyclic ring containing the nitrogen atom as a hetero atom and optionally having a substituent; RB1 and RB2 independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, an aryloxy group, or an aralkyloxy group, and RB1 and RB2 each may have the same or different substituents; and RA1 and RA2 independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a haloalkyl group, or an aryl group, and RA1 and RA2 each may have the same or different substituents; wherein the substituent is or the substituents are independently selected from the group consisting of (1) an alkyl group, (2) a haloalkyl group optionally, (3) an aryl group, (4) a heteroaryl group, (5) an aralkyl group, (6) a silyl group, (7) an alkenyl group, (8) an alkynyl group, (9) an acyl group, and (10) an alkenylcarbonyl group, the substituents (1) to (10) optionally having one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group, a haloalkyl group, an aryl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an alkoxy group, a hydroxy group, an oxiranyl group, a mercapto group, an amino group, a carbamoyl group, a sulfamoyl group, a carboxy group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a sulfo group, a sulfino group, a phosphono group, a nitro group, a cyano group, an amidino group, an imino group, a dihydroborono group, a halogen atom, a sulfinyl group, a sulfonyl group, an acyl group, an oxo group, and a thioxo group.
