A method of controlling a foldable display device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a step of detecting the shape of a foldable display unit, wherein the shape of the foldable display unit may include a first shape that is a folded shape and a second shape that is an unfolded shape and the foldable display unit is divided into a first region that is an edge region, a second region that is a folded region, and a third region disposed between the first region and the second region; a step of deactivating a touch sensor unit for the first region and the second region and activating the touch sensor unit for the third region when the foldable display unit is in the first shape; and a step of deactivating the touch sensor unit for the first region and activating the touch sensor unit for the second region and the third region when the foldable display unit is in the second shape.
