[Class 99 (i)] [Also in Group X] A connecting device for tubes or rods comprises a sleeve 1 adapted to encircle and be secured to the curved wall of a tube or rod A and having three or more flat sides 2 to which the ends of other tubes or rods B can be secured by welding or the like. The corners of the sleeve 1 have extensions 3 which project inwards into engagement with the tube A to cover the gap between the sleeve and the curved wall of the tube. As shown, a pair of triangular extensions 3 at each corner are welded together to form a corner cover in the form of a half-pyramid and the edges 5 engaging the tube A may be chamfered. |
