An embodiment of the present invention relates to a map display system using a landmark and the direction of the landmark, and a method thereof. The map display system using a landmark and the direction of the landmark comprises: a receiving unit which checks a request for displaying a landmark inside a map screen from a user device; a searching unit which searches for landmarks within a fixed radius beyond the map screen based on a position corresponding to the landmark display request; a generating unit which generates landmark information including the searched landmark and the direction of the searched landmark; and a transmitting unit which transmits the landmark information to the user device. |
