1. A multiple cannula assembly for insertion into a patient, comprising:
an outer cannula comprising:
a substantially rigid tip portion at a distal end of the outer cannula;a substantially rigid first connection portion at a proximal end of the outer cannula; anda substantially flexible outer cannula portion extending between the substantially rigid tip portion and the substantially rigid first connection portion such that the substantially rigid tip portion, flexible portion, and first connection portion form a passage; and an inner cannula configured for insertion and advancement through the passage of the outer cannula to a securing position, the inner cannula comprising:
a substantially rigid second connection portion at a proximal end of the inner cannula, wherein the substantially rigid second connection portion is configured to removably couple the inner cannula with the outer cannula when the inner cannula is inserted and advanced to the securing position.
