1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:
receiving, by a server device, data corresponding to a plurality of locations of a mobile device, wherein each location in the plurality of locations is associated with a timestamp corresponding to a time at which the mobile device occupies the location; computing, by the server device, a first density score for a first area on a computerized map based on the plurality of locations, wherein computing the first density score for the first area includes calculating a ratio of a size of the first area and an amount of time that the mobile device occupied the first area; computing, by the server device, a second density score for a second area on the computerized map based on the plurality of locations, wherein computing the second density score for the second area includes calculating a ratio of a size of the second area and an amount of time that the mobile device occupied the second area; identifying, by the server device, a third area on the computerized map that overlaps a portion of the first area and a portion of the second area; computing, by the server device, a third density score for the third area, wherein the third density score is based on a sum of the first density score and the second density score; and responsive to determining that no indication of ownership is associated with the third area and that the third density score exceeds a predetermined density score, transmitting an indication of ownership of the third area to the mobile device. |
