Universal box system

A universal electrical box which includes a body having at least one opening for receiving an electrical device. The device can also include at least one mounting bracket coupled to the body, and at least one frame configured to be coupled to the at least one body. In addition there is at least one duplex electrical mounting plate configured to couple to the at least one frame. In this case, the duplex electrical mounting plate is configured to receive a duplex electrical device. In addition, there is at least one sealing gasket configured to be coupled to the body between the at least one frame and the body. This design allows for a universal configuration which allows for multiple different types of electrical devices to be coupled to the enclosure.

1. An electrical box mounting system comprising:
a) a front cover; b) a plate including a plurality of apertures for securing electrical device to the plate; c) a body having an open front face for receiving the electrical device, a first set of connection elements disposed in the body and accessible via the open front face, the first set of connection elements being adapted and configured to secure the front cover to the body; and a second set of connection elements disposed in the body and accessible via the open front face, the second set of connection elements being adapted and configured to secure the plate to the body, and wherein the plate further includes a plurality of openings that align with the first set of connection elements, and a plurality of holes that align with the second set of connection elements when the plate is inserted into the open front face of the body, the front cover being adapted and configured to cover and seal the electrical device when the front cover, the plate and the electrical device are assembled with respect to the body; d) a first set of fasteners for passing through the plurality of openings formed in the plate to engage the first set of connection elements to secure the front cover to the body; and e) a second set of fasteners for passing through the plurality of holes formed in the plate to engage the second set of connection elements to secure the plate to the body.
