According to the present invention, a closed-circuit television system for transmitting a compressed, high-resolution digital video signal through a coaxial cable includes an IP camera and a network video recorder (NVR) connected through the coaxial cable. The IP camera includes a camera processor which receives image signals from an image sensor and creates a plurality of video signals including a baseband video signal and a digital video signal; an encoder which creates an output signal for transmitting the baseband video signal and the digital video signal through the coaxial cable by creating and combining output signals having different frequencies and signal bands using frequency division multiplexing from the baseband video signal and the digital video signal; and a decoder which is configured to demodulate an upstream signal received through the coaxial cable. The NVR includes a modem which, when the output signal is input, divides the baseband video signal and the digital video signal included in the output signal, removes distortion from the digital video signal, compensates for attenuation of the baseband video signal, and outputs the compensated baseband video signal; and a host processor which receives the digital video signal from the modem, stores the digital video signal in a storage unit, provides the digital video decoder with the digital video signal, and provides the modem with upstream data. |
