A cooling apparatus for a linear motor is provided to prevent distortion of a carriage by transferring heat from a coil part to a carriage through thermal conduction by direct contact. A cooling apparatus for a linear motor comprises a permanent magnet(2) of a linear motor(8) placed between a carriage(3) and a structure; a coil part(1) of a linear motor interacting with the permanent, placed between the permanent and the carriage; and a cooling unit(10), placed between the carriage and the coli unit, cooling the coil unit and reducing heat from the coil unit from being transferred into the structure. The cooling unit consists of a cooling plate placed between the coil unit and the carriage; a contact preventing member made from material with relatively low thermal conductivity; and a cooling pipe joined to the cooling plate. |
