A Printing unit is provided, which includes a print head provided with a plurality of nozzles arranged on a printing surface and configured to eject liquid ink, at least one light source integrally coupled with said print head. The printing unit is configured to be arranged at a predefined distance from a printing plane on which the printing operation is performed, with the printing surface and said at least one light source oriented towards said printing plane. The printing unit further includes a covering element arranged with its internal surface resting on and covering said printing surface and provided with one or more apertures shaped to allow said liquid ink to be ejected through said plurality of nozzles towards said printing plane. The covering element and said apertures are sized to prevent the light rays emitted by said at least one light source and reflected by said printing plane from passing through said apertures and directly hitting said printing surface. |
