PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas barrier film having an unprecedentedly high gas barrier capacity and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A gas barrier film 10 includes a substrate 1, an inorganic layer 2 configured atop the substrate 1, and an organic layer 3 configured atop the inorganic layer 2, whereas the organic layer 3 is formed by inorganic particles possessing polymerizable groups on surfaces thereof. It is desirable for the polymerizable groups to concomitantly include one, two, or more reactive groups selected from among acrylic groups, epoxy groups, vinyl groups, allyl groups, isocyanate groups, and silanol groups. This gas barrier film 10 can be manufactured by a method including a step of dry-film-forming the inorganic layer 2 atop the substrate 1 and a step of film-forming, atop the inorganic layer 2, the organic layer 3 by curing an organic layer-forming composition including at least inorganic particles possessing polymerizable groups on surfaces thereof. |
