<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for measuring a speed of a traveling body which are capable of acquiring a more correct speed due to a device easily post-fitted.SOLUTION: A first sensor 3 and a second sensor 5 for detecting a hanger 17 are disposed on a railway vehicle 1 at an interval L in a travel direction. When the railway vehicle 1 travels, the first sensor 3 and the second sensor 5 detect the hanger 17. If the time when the first sensor 3 detects the hanger 17 is referred to as T1 and the time when the second sensor 5 detects the hanger 17 is referred to as T2, a speed Vm of the vehicle 1 passing the hanger 17 is expressed as L/(T2-T1), with the times T1 and T2 and the interval L between the first sensor 3 and the second sensor 5. This speed and a traveling body speed (speed based on another principle) calculated in another principle such as traveling body acceleration are considered and corrected to determine a speed of the vehicle 1.</p> |
