PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a printing method capable of preventing, even if a web conveying speed is rapidly raised at printing start, the generation of printing defects when the elevation of the speed is finished, so as to obtain more printed webs and thus improve productivity.SOLUTION: A printer is provided with driving parts 80, 81, 82, 84 for continuously conveying webs W, and a control part 90 for controlling the driving parts. When elevating a conveying speed of the webs W, the control part 90 controls the acceleration of the web W so that an absolute value of a value when differentiating, with respect to time, the acceleration of the web W at the start of the elevation of the web W conveying speed becomes higher than an absolute value of a value when differentiating, with respect to time, the acceleration of the web W at the finish of the elevation of web W conveying speed. |
