PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ID card authenticity discrimination device that discriminates authenticity of an ID card in which microscopically formed personal information that is hard to be forged or altered is recorded.SOLUTION: An ID card authenticity discrimination device that discriminates authenticity of an ID card in which discernible personal information and personal information that is microscopically formed in order to prevent forging and alteration are recorded includes image reading means that reads ID card information, and arithmetic processing means that performs computation so as to recognize a read image. The arithmetic processing means includes image cut means that cuts the discernible personal information and an image of the microscopically formed personal information, character recognition means that recognizes characters from the cut image, and comparison means that compares the discernible personal information, which is recognized by the character recognition means, with the microscopically formed personal information. Depending on whether a result of the comparison demonstrates that the discernible personal information agrees or disagrees with the microscopically formed personal information, the authenticity of the ID card is discriminated. |
