PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passive reactor containment vessel cooling system capable of preventing foreign substances such as sands and dusts from entering from the outside in normal operation and reliably cooling the reactor containment vessel in emergency.SOLUTION: A reactor containment vessel cooling system comprises opening/closing members 11 and/or 12 provided to cover an aperture 5 on the top part of a building 3 housing a reactor containment vessel 1 and/or an air inflow section 10 of the side part of the building 3. An opening/closing members 11 or 12 is constructed of a grid plate 13 and an opening/closing plate 14 which covers each of multiple grid areas 13a partitioned by the grid plate 13 in such a manner as to open/close each of them. The opening/closing plate 14 is opened or closed by an opening/closing drive part 15 or 16 which operates by heat or pressure in the reactor containment vessel 1. |
