<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of preventing the occurrence of cleaning failures, when a toner band is supplied to the blade edge part of a cleaning blade.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes an intermediate transfer belt 200, an image forming part 150 forming a toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 200, a cleaning blade 191 coming into contact with the intermediate transfer belt 200, to remove toner on the intermediate transfer belt 200, and a control part 101 controlling the image forming part 150, so as to form toner bands 222, 224, and 226 to be supplied to the cleaning blade 191 on the intermediate transfer belt 200, when an image is not formed. The control part 101 controls the image forming part 150, so as to form the toner band whose toner concentration is lower than the average concentration of the toner bands 222, 224, and 226 on the intermediate transfer belt 200 on the downstream side in the rotational direction of the intermediate transfer belt 200.</p> |
