摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable inductance type radial direction position sensor system in which linearity and a signal-to-noise ratio are improved, and to provide a method for detecting a radial direction position of a rotor.SOLUTION: The variable inductance type radial direction position sensor system includes a rotor target 104 fixed on a rotary shaft 110 and composed of a ferromagnetic material and a fixed magnetic circuit 103 arranged around the rotor target 104. The fixed magnetic circuit 103 includes a detection element 131 arranged along an axis X-X' on the front of the rotor target 104 while leaving an air gap. An induction coil 105 of the detection element 131 is connected to a first end part 198 of an AC voltage source 101 and a node 199 connected to a second end part 181 of the AC voltage source 101. A detector device 162 is inserted between the node 199 and the second end part 181 of the AC voltage source 101 and information concerned with an amount of a flowing current is distributed. The information expresses a value of correction X to width of an air gap, expressing a predetermined nominal value g0 along the first axis X-X'.</p>
