PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for obtaining, by using a transition metal complex, a silicon-silicon coupling compound based on a dehydrohalogenation reaction of a silane compound and a catalyst composition used for this method.SOLUTION: [1] In the provided method for manufacturing a silicon compound, a silicon-silicon coupling compound is obtained by reacting a hydrosilane compound (A) and a halosilane compound (B) or by reacting a hydrohalosilane compound (C) by using a transition metal complex expressed by the general formula (I) in the presence of a reductant; [2] a catalyst composition with which a transition metal complex expressed by the general formula (I) and a compound expressed by the general formula (II) are mixed is also provided. |
